Known as "The Flying Frenchman," Carpentier was a pioneer of high-flying wrestling who headlined Madison Square Garden and competed for the CWC and WWWF. He held versions of the World Heavyweight Championship and famously feuded with legends like Killer Kowalski and Buddy Rogers. After his in-ring career, he served as a French-language color commentator for the WWF during the 1980s.
